Test a business idea before investing
A useful test is small enough to stop without losing significant money, time or privacy.
A simple way to test an idea
Before committing to a public launch or spending money, you can create a reversible test. This gives you a way to explore whether a local, online or mixed idea could work.
Questions for your test
- What do I want to learn? (Identify one clear question to answer)
- Who might have this problem? (Think about potential customers, clients or learners)
- What can I ask or show privately? (Without creating a public profile)
- How much time and money am I willing to use? (Set a strict limit)
- What information must remain private? (Set your boundaries)
- What would make me pause or stop? (Decide this before you start)
You will not be required to sell, borrow, register a business, open a social media account, share your face or a photograph, or reveal a home address to test an idea in the programme.
